当機構は、平成３０年度に、自己点検・評価を実施し、その結果を報告書として取りまとめ、平成３０年９月２６日に大学分科会認証評価機関の認証に関する審査委員会へ提出しました。その後、同年１２月２５日に同審査委員会によるヒアリングが実施され、その結果について、平成３１年３月１８日付け事務連絡でコメントがありました。
当機構は、平成２７年度から平成２８年度にかけて、当機構自らの自己点検・評価を実施し、その結果を踏まえた外部評価を、平成２９年度に実施しました。
当機構の今後の改革・改善に資するため、平成２７年度から平成２８年度にかけて、当機構の組織及び諸活動について自ら点検・評価を行い、平成２９年３月に自己点検・評価報告書を取りまとめました。
なお、平成３０年４月施行の省令改正（「学校教育法第１１０条第２項に規定する基準を適用するに際して必要な細目を定める省令」）により、認証評価機関自らの点検・評価が義務化されています。
